Colonization

The Colony of Roanoke was one of the first English colonies to be established; but was not a successful one. Most likely due to the lack of needed resource, location of the colony, or Indian inhabitants. Colonization was attempted several times. The time period between John White's return to the island was estimated at three years. If the colonizers were waiting for this duration of time, they probably could have, deceased, starved, or attempted whatever means to survive. the 13 colonies on the foundation of their religious beliefs. Though attempting to escape persecution; there was still some happening in the colonies. For example, the Puritans called for everyone to worship in a certain way; and so that there way of worship would dominate the colonies they fined, banished, whipped and imprisoned those who didn't conform to these beliefs. The Anglicans were established in most of the colonies, and were one of the groups being persecuted by the puritans. Puritans rejected the Book of Common Prayer used in Anglican worship. Baptists appeared in most of the colonies. Roman Catholics and Protestants organized in Maryland.
