Kids behind bars, or under house arrest in what the city has planned to revert to. In a nation based on individuality and personal freedom, laws of restriction presents moral dilemmas that seem to contradict the fundamental values of the Western World. In particular, laws restricting a portion of its citizens from exercising their individuality and freedom seem to go against the beliefs of the founding fathers.
It is now a crime for people under 18 to be outside after arbitrarily chosen hours in many major cities across the United States. In these many cities, the government feels the need to establish a curfew for minors. This is an issue raised and addressed by both the city and its ...

the next party or such. This is the first step towards limiting freedom for minors. The next step would be to establish the curfew across town, so that minors under a certain age would not be able to walk the streets without an adult to accompany them. Thereby, limiting and taking away their Constitutional rights.
Curfew laws restrict the freedoms and Constitutional rights of the vast majority of honest law-abiding young people, while having very little effect on teenage crimes or gang activities. They effectively place all teenagers and children under house arrest even though they have done nothing wrong, thereby intruding government controls into family responsibilities and decisions. Parents should be the ones in charge of their children - the ones to set the limit on how long there children can stay out; where they are.
Crime should be prevented, but to put a curfew on children and teenagers is unconstitutional. It shouldn’t be the job of the government. Sure, one of ...
