One of the first things that is cut is the music program to enable the school district to make room for “necessary” classes. Apparently music is not essential to the human body to schools in the country according to O’Donnell of schooling in 2008; Schools across the nation are tightening their school budgets, making them cut certain programs. However, when these budget cuts come along, music is becoming less noticed to the eyes of everybody in our community. This is just one of our many reasons why music programs need to stay in our local schools.
