Fast-food restaurants are defined by their speed and efficiency to their customers. The foods on the menus at most fast-food restaurants are high in bad cholesterol and sodium. These junk foods are a major contributor of obesity increasing other health risks including heart disease, diabetes, and other chronic health problems. The first restaurant considered to be fast-food was White Castle and opened in the early 1920s. people may argue that fast-food restaurants price anything healthy at a higher dollar value than the unhealthy products making it difficult for most people to buy the healthy products. Millions of Americans do not go to fancy restaurants all that often because of their income. These lower-income families visit fast-food restaurants for the convenience of the items on the menu being priced at a low price, all but the healthier items. Parents allow their children "supersize" their meals for a small extra price rather than thinking about compromising with their kids choose something healthier to eat.
Eating at places like McDonalds and Burger King doesn't have to necessarily be an absolute "no,no." A person can eat at a Burger King every once in a while and it would do no harm. The most harmful object Americans should watch when they are going out to eat at fast-food restaurants is the calories they consume a day.
