To begin with, in order to enter the professional league black athletes are subjected to a higher performance requirement than white athletes are. Black athletes are identified as naturally athletic, while white athletes are credited for their hard work and knowledge of the game. This statement portrays that black athletes are naturally given the gift of great athleticism, and white people become great athletes through hard work, discipline and intelligence.
