My Uncle used to own his own candle factory but decided to move his factory into my Grandparent's basement. The strange people were friends of his that would help out for some extra cash. I always thought they were so cool. I wanted to help my Uncle make candles but he would always say that I was too young. I begged him every time we came over. "Please Uncle Joush. to make candles. The first time I helped I only needed scissors, to trim the wicks, and newspaper to wrap the finished candles. As I got older, my tasks increased. Finally, I was able to prepare the molds, pour the wax and color the candles. The main supplies needed to make candles are: wax, molds, wax coated string (wicks), a large needle, dye, dye pots, pitchers, buckets, cooling pots, wooden rods, a griddle, blow torch, water tubs (we use feeding troughs for horses), drying racks, fans, shine, a large heating device to melt the wax, and like I said before, newspaper, scissors and boxes for packaging.
Before you start, you should be organized. Candle making could be a one man job, but it helps if you have two or three. Set up stations so everyone can be productive. You need someone in a corner, away from the mess, with the molds, wicks, scissors and needle.
