For most students here in Florida, we have many memories regarding Physical Education being a part of our curriculum in elementary school and maybe even middle school. Believe it or not, there many states out there that either do not have physical education as a requirement for elementary school students, nor junior high school nor high school students. latest news on teachers, Top Schools in the nation, and just Education in general in the US. The author immediately starts off with a very important recommendation made by the American Heart Association that “a minimum of 150 minutes of physical activity a week for elementary students, and 225 minutes per week for middle school students.” Apparently, the nation is falling behind on that recommendation when the author refers to the “2010 Shape of the Nation Report” where only 5 states are fulfilling the American Heart Association’s physical activity recommendation, 3 states are fulfilling it for elementary students, and three other states require the middle school 225+ minutes of physical activity.
The logos is very on point with all the research and facts, however the pathos is where the author is slacking. A reference to The Virginia House Education Committee was made about advancing a bill for mandatory physical education was made after the article as an update to the article. ...
