All documentaries have a point of view, which is biased towards one side of the spectrum. Through manipulation they present their own versions of reality. Documentaries are very one-sided as they are told by one person who believes in only one side of the subject. The documentary film "Sharkwater" (2006) produced by Rob Stewart relates a lot to the essay question, as he shows sharks in a different light to how most people would, where he shows them as peaceful creatures that don't harm anyone unless threatened. a documentary is a movie, television or radio program that provides a factual record or report. The two documentaries "Sharkwater" and "Supersize Me" provide factual information but manipulate the audience by presenting their own versions of reality. Documentaries are a biased view of the filmmaker's version of reality and in doing so present the facts in a biased fashion. The facts are still there in these documentaries, which hides the biased view of the filmmakers. A documentary wouldn't be made my a filmmaker if they didn't believe in their own side of the subject which is why they make such an effort to show their beliefs and their side of the story in a good light, in comparison to the other side of the story which isn't shown at all. The bias in the two documentaries studied are shown subtly as they are masked by these facts and statistics.
