Montenegro
The region in the Balkans known as Yugoslovia is the home of 594,000 people, most of which are Montenegrins. In 1946, a federal state consisting of six republics was organized and named Yugoslovia. was one of the original six and one of the last two republics to stillmake up this nation after four republics, Boznia-Herzegovina, Croatia, Macedonia, and Slovenia, declared their independences between June 1991 and March 1992. Today, and Serbia make up present day Yugoslavia.

the Adriatic. The Montenegrins name is Serbo-Croatian and the republics name is Crna Gora, which means black mountain. Podgorica, formerly Titograd, is the present day capital. The University of Podgorica is located there and is their best known university.
During its time in the six republics of Yugoslavia, had one of the weakest economies of the republics. One thing holding them back from economic success was their poor network of roads and railroads. In 1976, a railroad was built from Bar, 's greatest seaport, to Belgrade, the former capital of Yugoslavia. This improved 's economy and overall transportation for a while. The "Black Mountains' people have deposits of numerous minerals including bauxite, lead, and coal. Industries invoved in manufacturing aluminum, cement, iron, and paper build the economy. Montenegrin agriculture is made up of corn, olives, potatoes, tobacco, wheat, cherries, grapes, figs, peaches, plums, and pears.
