My Perspective of Writing Assignments

In the 7th grade, we had writing assignments, journals, essays and other short papers to write. I completed those writing assignments with ease. They were easy and simple to do, with subjects such as what kind of car you wanted when you grow up, what you want be when you grow up, and what are your plans for the summer. Even at that time, I often asked the question, “who’s really going to use this, seriously”? When I was in high school, I questioned who’s going to use essay and journal writing in the real world. Maybe an English major, a speech teacher, or someone who is going into journalism may benefit from writing essays & research papers. Personally speaking, I hate writing assignments ...

and after reading these particular books, my writing assignments seemed to become a little easier for me. So, of course, my grades improved but soon after the same results started happening again along with the not so satisfying grades. After getting the bad grades, I started hating writing assignments again. I started making up excuses like I had nothing to write about, I got better things to do, or even saying I got football, track, or band practice, just to name a few. Among all of the excuses, I really didn’t have time for my writing assignments before the deadlines. I still knew I had to turn in something; whatever I turned in was never my best, but I always put the excuses out of my mind.
