The experiment that I chose was to watch someone watching television for ten minutes, watch the person the entire time without looking at the television. Then after 10 minutes without anyone knowing, shut off the television. Report my findings.

This experiment was conducted on my 17 year old son, his name is Amious. Anyhow, he was in our living-room watching a digital video disc, titled ``The Ice Harvest''. didn't even bother him and was no big deal to him. Which I am glad it isn't.

I was able to complete this experiment even though at the start of it I assumed that if I shut off the television that Amious would yell at me for it, but he didn't.

When I read the scenarios we had to choose from, I had decided to do this one because I thought, ``This shouldn't be too hard to do'' and it wasn't except for my own thoughts thinking he would get mad or something. It even helps you learn something about another person, like if they get mad easily or like with the TV scenario if they even cared you turned it off.

I think what I learned about social rules is that there are some rules that everyone may react to differently and that because of society some of these reactions were instilled in us growing up. The norms, folkways and mores all are contributing factors in our society, and our society is what decides is appropriate/inappropriate behaviors for our society. It could be here ...
