Robert Johnson, born in Mississippi in 1911, was not only a bluesman but was also one of the most influential musicians in history. His music contained emotion, mystery, and passion which produced original blues music that many musicians looked up to. Despite being one of the most influential musicians who shaped the history of rock and roll, very little is known about the legend.

Through the use of his uncommon instrumental techniques and vocal ingenuity he brought raw passion and emotional depth to his music which drew people's attention. No one knew how he got so musically gifted in such a short amount of time and many believe that he really did sell his soul to the devil. The myth of Robert Johnson selling his soul to the devil made him of a mystifying nature, intriguing his fans making him an unparalleled character.
Johnson died at age 27, under mysterious circumstances. Some think he was poisoned, although a note on the back of his death certificate says the cause was syphilis. Although he recorded just 29 songs, the bluesman had a huge influence among many musicians such as Eric Clapton, Keith Richards, and Jimi Hendrix.
