The 1970’s

The 1970’s was a great time for American music, especially rock and roll. The 1970’s had carried over music types from the 1960’s and had put a spin on it. For instance, Psychedelic music was changed a little bit from different bands like the Allman Brothers, Steely Dan, and Alice Cooper. But one major band that had stood out from the Psychedelic music was Led Zeppelin. They had twisted the Psychedelic music by adding folk, and blues music to the rock and roll. I had also learned that The Rolling Stones was originally from Britain, and then transferred to American with a twist of electric blues in their music. ...

had brung out a new type of music that inspired many other bands latter on like Metallica and the Trooper which were also very popular later on. Then a new type of music had hit the charts called “Progressive Rock”. one band that had been labeled by this new type of rock were called The Who, the band was very popular to the American ears, and mostly every adult that had lived in the 1970’s had somewhat knew of this band. But Progressive Rock had many different types of bands, for instance Peter Gabriel, some of his costumes and songs made it seem like the guy was always on some kind of drug, even though his music sounded great.
Progressive rock had many great bands that were almost as popular as The Who, such as Pink Floyd and Genesis. These bands were more calming, and had somewhat also seemed as if they were Psychedelic bands also. It would be safe to assume that many bands in the 1970’s were on drugs. They took these drugs due to stress, or just to make their songs ...
