There is a lot of discussion about a uniform requirement in our public schools. We should require every student to wear a uniform during school hours. Firstly, parents will save time, money and energy. Secondly, students will focus on studying instead of thinking about their wardrobes. Finally, uniforms help create an atmosphere of equality. Clearly, there are many benefits to such a rule.

Every time children who don't have rich parents look at the wealthy students they will dream about fancy clothes. If the schools adopt a uniform rule, children won't be teased about what they wear, because everyone will be wearing the same thing. Nobody will be jealous of anyone else's clothing. Kids who wear regular clothes, not uniforms, will always be judged by what they wear and that is not fair. Therefore, a uniform policy is good because it makes students equal.
Uniforms by themselves cannot solve all of the problems of school discipline, but they can be one positive contributing factor to discipline and safety.
