Tattoo Exploration Proposal

Throughout this year I intend to explore the many aspects and era's of tattoos. From present ideas, styles and techniques to the very first tattoos and tattoo designs. My goal is to explore the different styles of tattoos and how society has shaped the culture and created new styles and designs of tattooing. I have chosen to do tattooing as my theme because I want to get a tattoo and this is allowing me to research and explore concepts and styles I might not be inclined to delve into.

in the design process of getting a tattoo because it is something I can really explore and experiment with, whereas I can't really experiment with ink, tattoo machine and an actual person. I wish to ulitmently create a series of images that summarises the exploration I have done and produced throughout my folio.
I love the concept of exploring your past experiences, emotions and your life and finding a piece of art that represents what you are trying to say and what you feel, after all a picture has 1000 words. I understand that certain people are intimidated by tattoos and don't like the idea of marking your body. That's why I am really interested and inspired to investigate more traditional tattoo designs, where cultures have been marking their bodies for generations, and it isn't seen as a rebellious act.
