Social division is apparent in today's society, not as much as in the film but the rich are still favoured and the poor are still disgruntled. The film shows the viewer a type of society that we could slowly be changing into as well as make todays problems more obvious. Death is one of the main themes presented throughout the film whether it be how the people in Panem aren't even effected by it or how easy most of the tributes find it to kill another human being.
